Man From The South

The Man From The South is an interesting, but rather strange story. It is about 2 people betting on weather the lighter can light up 10 times in a row or not. One of the man puts up his Cadillac and the other puts up his left pinky finger. The story is taking place in Jamaica

In the short story "Man From The South", I think that there are many elements for a short story. In this story, the setting takes place at 6:00pm in Jamaica, because as said in the introduction, "I'd buy myself a beer and go out and sit in a deck chair by the swimming pool and have a little evening sun." And as a class, we had figured out that the story had taken place in Jamaica. I think that the conflict of this story was the little man and the boy who were betting. The rising action begun when the man came and had seen the boy light up his lighter in the wind and wanted to bet him, and all 4 of them go up to the hotel room and start to commence the bet. The Climax as when the boy gets until the 8th light, and an older South American comes in and stops the man. The falling action is when the women tell the boy that the man has been betting for a really long time and that after a really long time, she has taken everything he has with the bets., and when they see her hand, they see she only has one finger and her thumb left.

Jasmine's p.e reflection

So far P.E has been going great for me. It's really fun to do different kind of activities each class. At this moment, i have no digital evidence (sorry). I don't have much to write about because I missed 3 weeks of school cause I had to go to India but I did a lot of physical education there. I played volleyball and we sometimes raced. I also played some badminton. I will try to get some digital evidence the next time. But for now I think that the grade I deserve to get is a B.

P. E Class review

Well I think that P.E is going so far well. I'm always well prepared and trying my best in class or any other class activities that we do. I always put my best effort in most of the time. For example when we have fitness, play different kinds of activities, obstacle course,ex. The days that have been a struggle for me are whenever we go to the weight room or do the community run. It's quite a struggle for me because I can't really pick up much heavy weights and for the community run I get tired of running really fast but I'm always encouraging myself to try harder. Well I think that my class is doing great. We ge together very well and we're always trying our hardest. I think that I always bring a positive attitude to class because I'm always willing to try/learn something new each time. I get along pretty well with the rest of the class because they're really kind and helpful and nice. As a grade eighter the grade nines always help me if I don't understand something. For fitness I'm always pushing myself to participate and be more enthusiastic. The fitness activity I enjoy doing the most is insanity. My fitness goal is trying to participate more and try to keep on going until I feel like way too tired. For me,leadership means being a role model for the young you can help them if they don't understand anything. In my class there are a lot of leaders and most of them are in grade 9. But I think that Brandon and Jasluv are very good leaders because they always come with a positive attitude. Plus, their always enthusiastic in almost everything. The improvements I wanna make by the end of the year so far are participating in all the things that I'm struggling in. For example, the weight room and the community run. For the weight room I would slowly start with lighter weights and beggining to use a little heavier weights. The thing I'm mostly proud of is all the things we've done like the obstacle course that we do. It's really hard for me but I managed to do it anyways. Overall, I hung that P.E is the best class I've had so far and I really enjoy doing all the activities that we do.
